Mark A. Martinez is a lifelong Nebraskan, public-safety professional, and proven leader with four decades of law enforcement experience. A South High and University of Nebraska at Omaha alumnus (B.S., Criminal Justice; M.S., Criminal Justice), Mark has served his community as a crime lab technician, Omaha Police Department officer through Deputy Chief, United States Marshal for the District of Nebraska, and adjunct Criminal Justice instructor at UNO. He and his wife Cynthia have been married 41 years and are proud parents of four.

United States Marshal, District of Nebraska (2010–2018)
- Presidentially nominated and appointed
- Managed Omaha and Lincoln offices
- Supervised 25 sworn and 7 administrative staff, budget management
- Held Top Secret security clearance; selected for national EEO advisory committee
- Led district participation in multi-year, multi-agency anti-gang violence “Operation Triple Beam“
- Organized regional law-enforcement trainings and community outreach events
Omaha Police Department (1984–2009)
- Deputy Chief overseeing four precincts and 400 uniformed officers
- Captain of the South East Precinct
- Lieutenant managing Units in the Criminal Investigations Bureau (Narcotics/Gang Units) and the Uniform Patrol Bureau
- Sergeant supervising a Unit of Officers in the Uniform Patrol Bureau and an Assignment in Internal Affairs
- Officer Assignments including Uniform Patrol Bureau, Crime Prevention Unit, Training Unit, Background Investigations Unit
